Christoff Debusschere paints the discards of the modern world — disused hangars, forgotten machinery, the carcasses of old aircraft — with the rigour of a Velázquez and the sensibility of a marine painter. In Barbizon, a village that has always known how to recognise painters of light and of the everyday, his permanent presence at 88bis Grande Rue feels close to inevitable. The Muse Galerie is at once his showroom-studio and a living museum, opening onto the Grande Rue that was Millet's and Rousseau's.
