Sentier bleu n°6 — Gorges d'Apremont
Départ : Parking du Bas-Bréau, Fontainebleau
The place
The Denecourt trails are the backbone of the Fontainebleau forest as we walk it today. Claude-François Denecourt, a former soldier of the Empire, spent decades marking them out, rock by rock, to the point that he is often described as the inventor of nature tourism. Blue trail no. 6 crosses the Gorges d'Apremont, where sandstone chaos rising from the sand offered the Barbizon painters compositions no academy would have dared to invent.
