Galerie Atelier Drochon
79 Grande Rue, 77630 Barbizon
The building
Drochon has been a professional wildlife artist since 1994, with a decisive shift toward hyperrealist animalist painting in 1997 following his discovery of American painters such as Robert Bateman. In a village where painters have always been drawn by the quality of the forest light, Drochon continues that tradition in a contemporary register — his animals are not mere subjects but, as he puts it, symbolic actors for something deeper: his hopes in humanity and in love. His arrival in Barbizon with a permanent atelier adds a living creative presence to the Grande Rue.
