Via Veneto Glaces

56 bis Grande Rue, 77630 Barbizon

The building

Behind the Roman name is a story that begins in the Veneto. Patricia, the founder, named the business after the region her family comes from and after the Via Veneto in Rome — one of the city's most celebrated streets. The first boutique opened in Fontainebleau in 2015. In 2023 it was sold, and in June 2024 Via Veneto opened in Barbizon instead — a move that says something about where the appetite is now.

The ice creams are made by hand at the production atelier in Orgenoy. The milk is organic, from a farm in Moigny-sur-École. The mint for the mint-chocolate comes from Milly-la-Forêt. The supply chain is genuinely local, which is rarer than the marketing usually suggests.

On the Grande Rue the shop offers cones, coupes, milkshakes, and a rotating selection of frozen desserts that changes weekly. Weekend visitors get the larger gâteaux glacés: vacherins, glacéd macarons, omelettes norvégiennes. It is the kind of stop that extends a walk into an afternoon.
